I'll see you there brother, drive safe.
howdy peeps. if anyone is planning to attend the boat show, make sure to drop by and give me a "howdy!", "Hola!", "Que paso vato!", "Wut up, fool!"…or whatever. i will be at the New Water booth on friday and saturday.
Thanks guys for your input. If its true that my friends pond is dry, I might just try a combination to the two options.
Thanks again
i’d join and help out if i could. it’s gonna be tough to get muskies stocked anywhere else in n.y. too many trout lovers around. my dad was a pike hater. he believed the pike ate all the "good fish". we lived on seneca lake for awhile and when the pike population exploded in the 60′s and i was out pike fishing all the time he told me to kill ‘em all and nail their heads on the back of the garage. i loved my old man but i let all the pike go. there was and old guy named jay next door who trolled kashong bay every night. every couple days he’d pick me up and take me with him. the bass all went back but if we caught a pike it got whacked and fed to his barn cats. another pike hater. they’re still around. i’m all for a mi chapter in new york and will join and support it,but it will be a tough road. trout=white man’s carp.

I got an Accudepth 47LC for Christmas. Will I be able to put enough wire on it to run a wire dipsy setup? It says it will hold 280yds of 0.45 mono. If so, I will probably buy a match. Any suggestions for type/length of backing, type/length of wire? I’m also gonna need suggestions for rods to put these on.

may i ask why you or him like the 223 vs something a little bigger ?
AR platform?
personally i think its to small for deer just the jump from 62grain fusion to a 243 i think comes 96 grain is a fifty% increase on bullet weight .
quick story my uncle took his 223 out a couple years back nice ten came in crack buck runs off all hunched up …..yaaaaaaaaaaaaa, ya no how it is , i go to help recover the thing not one single drop of blood to be found spent the rest of the day looking "no snow of course" few days later he stumbeles on the dead deer , tiny pinhole square in the middle of its shoulder, not enough of a hole to even leak out of and that bullett did not have enough energy at fifty yards to blow the bones apart, dont get me wrong it went thru but not with the deviststion my sons 243 has , and the other half of that most certainly bullet type i would assume he was using el cheapo fmj rounds we plink with all summer.
